Available for engagements in 2011

Just putting it out there.  I’m available for bookings for 2011 around Australia.  Topics may relate to working online and from home and that that entails such as: networking, social media, using your database, etc, etc. or perhaps the audience may be a group of mothers who want encouragement with respect to bringing their skills back home so they can be there for their families.  Or perhaps you’ve thought of something else I might be able to speak on?

I live in the Dandenong Ranges in Victoria, Australia but am happy to travel to speak interstate or even regional areas.

If you are planning an event in 2011 then please consider if I would be an ideal speaker for your audience.

The Importance of Networking

Spoke at the VAVirtuosos Webinar early this morning my time about the Importance of Networking and it was nice to hear so many attended the event. Thanks for all the wonderful comments and feedback- much appreciated.  I really did enjoy my time with you all.

Available for bookings

I spent some time withdrawn from speaking engagements but am now ready to get back into the circuit, so to speak.  So if you’re looking for a speaker for your women’s event, I may be just the person you’re looking for!

Motivational, keynote, workshop, etc I look forward to hearing from you to book your event.

I live in Victoria so bookings for other locations need to also cover my travel and accommodation expenses.

Topics include: Working Virtually, Being a Proverbs 31 Woman, Using Social Media Tools, Blogging and The Importance of Networking (online & offline).

Village Church Dingley Women’s Breakfast

I had the wonderful opportunity of speaking to a group of around 70 women this morning in Moorabbin at the MGA.  These women were from local churches or the general community.  My topic was about working from home and I spoke on my favourite topic ‘The Proverbs 31 Woman’ and the value of women being present in the home for their families.

The talk was well received and I was delighted with the number of women who wanted to speak to me afterwards and to buy my books:

Worth More Than Rubies and It Happened By Design.

Thank you ladies for an enjoyable morning.

Virtuoso Blogging Seminar

Enjoyed speaking at the blogging seminar today for a Canadian & US audience. When the audience enjoys the topic it makes presenting all the more worthwhile!

Interview on Radio LightFM

Thought you might like to hear my latest radio interview which took place earlier this week on Melbourne Radio LightFM.  Clayton Bjelan is the DJ interviewing me on his show 1-on-1.

He asks me to share about my latest book and also tells listeners about the book launch taking place next week.

Connect with me at social networks!

I’ve been actively exploring a number of networks, some of my latest favourites being via ning.com.  If you were wondering where you can find me, I’ve added a category in my blogroll called “Connect with Me” where you can peruse the groups that might interest you. From Facebook and Twitter to Linkedin and Christian women’s groups to Author’s groups, to Business network groups or Business Startup groups, there’s something there relating to my various interests and activities.

So, feel free to connect with me at any of these places and drop me a note once you join!

Update on things

Just thought I’d give you all an update on my activities to date.

The new book is finished but haven’t been able to contact the graphic designer to finish the cover – turns out her computer had died, I’ve just heard from her now as a friend in the US called her for me to check on her. So the book should be at the printer next week. Yay! And Amazon.com not long after that.

Got fantastic reviews already for the book too – you should see at http://www.ithappenedbydesign.com. I’m ready to take advance orders too.

My Facebook page really is starting to shape up at http://www.kathiemthomas.com and I’m using it to announce events now.

I had professional shots taken recently and I’m fairly happy with them – I just have to get used to seeing me with glasses. You can see some of them at my Facebook page or at the media page on this site.

I beat my goal of 24 speaking engagements this year and to date it’s now 35 – I have 5 in October which is counted in that list.

Life is busy and I’m enjoying it!

Travelling to Canada!

Can’t believe it – just a week ago I was doing a teleseminar for a US Virtual Assistant audience about using LinkedIn as a tool for your business. 30 mins after that I received an email from a conference organiser asking me to speak at a conference in Canada June 2009 – I accepted.

Our (my husband and I) trip is now booked and we paid our deposit yesterday to the travel agent – one whole week has passed and it’s all been planned!  We’re flying to Toronto and then will travel to Niagara to stay for the duration of the FoVA conference. Then we fly to Victoria and join a tour over there, run by an Aussie company to visit Vancouver, Whistler, Jasper, Lake Louise, Banff and then back to Vancouver to get on a cruise ship to go up to Glacier Bay and back before flying back home towards the end of the month.  And a long-time friend via email and phone, who lives in Vancouver has invited Graham and I to come stay with her and her husband for a night as well.

What a wonderful thing to happen in such a short space of time. It was only 3-4 weeks ago that Graham and I went to a presentation given by our local travel agent (who doesn’t have a website – will have to talk to them about that!) about a tour and cruise in Canada and we thought we might do that in 2010 – we didn’t think 2009 would be possible till I got the request to speak at a conference!

What a difference a week makes!
